Pinewood Derby!?!

Yes, it is that time of year again. Time for the pinewood derby!?! Bradlee does not turn eight until February, but they let him race with the rest of the in the ward, because he will be eight by the time of the district races. He drove Ky and I nuts to get his car built. He finally did most of it himself. Ky cut the block of wood for him and he sanded, painted (I think the car had 3-4 coats of paint) and put the wheels on. By the time it came to the day of the race I didn't care if it won at all, I was tried of it.
When did pinewood derby become so technical? They had a sensor at the end of the track so they know which car came in first, second, third and fourth. The sensor also has a timer, so they know how fast the cars are. Each car got to race 8 times and they take the average time.
So although Bradlee's car won 7 times his car was #8 as far as speed. He came in third place in his age group for our ward. His car was the best, good enough to win a few races but we don't have to worry about district races, yay!

Bradlee is the second one from the left.

Here he is putting his car on the track.

When a car passes under the sensor, the name of the winner pops up on the screen.

Here he is with his trophy. He was so proud of it.

Bradlee's car is the white one in the lead!
GOOD JOB BRADLEE!
